April 2021

We want to praise the Lord for all of His blessings during our sharathon last month. We are thankful for all He provided us not only financially but those who were involved with our fundraiser as well as our listeners! With Easter coming up we pray that The Holy Spirit would prick the hearts of those who hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. That those who hear would repent and turn to Christ for a saving relationship and an eternity with The Father. May Christians be bold in this world and shine ever brighter to family, friends, and strangers throughout their communities and beyond.

Well, another sharathon is in the can. We just got finished with our weekly prayer meeting and acknowledged all the prayer requests received during Sharathon 2021. We take your prayer request seriously. The most common one was praying for our country. May that be a continuous prayer from us all. I mentioned in our meeting what great volunteers we have. I frequently encouraged our listeners to call in a pledge and that they would experience a kind, friendly person at the other end. I was confident they would have a pleasant experience if they would call. I had the opportunity to take a few calls myself. This was my 25th year of doing Sharathon, and I have had the pleasure of taking many calls over the years.

My takeaway from my experience of taking calls as well as our volunteers was that God’s people are some of the nicest people. Of course, we are grateful for the financial support, but your encouragement and gratefulness for this ministry leave us in awe. Denisha mentioned that the volunteers worked long hours for no pay and loved it and looked forward to the next time. That is because they get to experience your love for the Lord and your faithfulness. That is inspiring. We finished at $107,000. As usual, we did not make our goal, but like every other year for the last 25 plus, the Lord uses His people to supply our needs. It doesn’t all come at Sharathon, but it usually does come.

Thank you, all listeners, givers, prayer warriors, volunteers, and most of all the Lord God Almighty. We were able to eat well thanks to several local food establishments. Just remember, as we see the day approaching as God’s people we need to stick together. It’s looking like a rocky road ahead. Keep the Faith, know you are loved and be a lighthouse of truth.

(Heb 10:24NASB) and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds,

(Heb 10:25NASB) not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
