That is the theme for this year’s Sharathon. What does that mean? I am glad you asked that question. Actually, it should be spread the words. The words are that Jesus is Lord. He is the way the truth and the life. John 14:6: Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
The Cornerstone exists for this very purpose. To tell all who will hear that Jesus is Lord and to teach about Him through those called and led to teach and sing about Him. We’re all born sinners and that is why He came, to save us from our sin and to offer us forgiveness and eternal life. For those who know him, we are encouraged to grow in grace and knowledge.
2 Peter 3:18: But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen. How do you grow? I am glad you asked that question. By reading your Bible, listening to The Cornerstone, and joining a local Bible-believing church. So how about it, will you help us Spread the Word?
How can you help? I am glad you asked that question. We are all ambassadors for Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:20: Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. One of the easiest ways to evangelize is to tell people about The Cornerstone. We are often shocked when we hear there are actually people who have lived here all their lives and do not know we exist, not to mention those who just moved into town. We have been proclaiming Christ for many years to our community, longer than any other station, but if we are to continue we need your help financially. We are listener supported. I realize you are bombarded on every side to give. When you give to this ministry, you are giving to the wellbeing of our community and the eternal future of the citizens within it. We hope you are blessed by the programming but please consider the lost souls that still need to find their way.
If the Lord has blessed you financially won’t you consider encouraging others to give by pledging matching money? Matching money is $1000 or more and acts as an encouragement for others to give. Remember, you can pledge and have a whole year to fulfill it or you can give monthly or one time. A day sponsor is a great way to give. If you would like to know more about it, listen in during the Sharathon or call for more information. Please pray and ask for the Lord’s guidance. Together with God’s help, we make a difference. To everyone who has given and will give this Sharathon, we are grateful beyond words. You have helped to change lives for all eternity. Now, that is the best return on your investment you could expect.
Matthew 6:19-21: "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Everyone wants to feel wanted and needed, and in God’s kind providence he has gifted each of his people and outfitted us to be used in various ways to bring him glory. At Cornerstone Broadcasting we exist to take each of the 1440 minutes per day that God has given us and air excellent music, family programming and Bible teaching that will serve to disciple the followers of Christ who listen and reach the unsaved with the good news of the Gospel. We recognize that this particular format does not appeal to every person because sadly far too many would rather be entertained than edified when it comes to their radio station of choice. Thankfully, from the foundation of this ministry until now we have purposed to allow God to increase our listenership as he sees fit while we labor to ensure that he is honored by the programming we air. We thank God for the thousands of listeners we do have and the many people who financially support this work so that we might continue to be an audio missionary in our local community.
Sharathon 2017 is just days away (March 21-24) and our theme, not only for Sharathon but for the entirety of 2017 is “Spread the Word”. More than a mere theme, this is really a campaign to enlist fellow Christians in the work telling others about Jesus. The Cornerstone’s mission verse is Romans 10:14-15 which says, “14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent?” We take great joy in knowing we are part of heralding the Kingdom of God and excited to see how God will use these radio airwaves to change hearts, lives and minds in the years ahead. As we survey our world it’s easy to recognize that the programming on The Cornerstone is needed more than ever. While we promise to continue our daily labors, we need to ask you to partner with us in three very important ways. First, we must know that you are praying for us! Prayer is essential to any ministry success and we know that whatever good will come of our work will be done as the Lord allows. Will you promise to pray for us? Second, we are a listener supported ministry. We can only continue to do what we do if the financial needs are covered. One time and monthly gifts from our listeners are crucial, because without your support we cannot be here. Finally, we need you to help us Spread the Word. By sharing this ministry with the people you know we can grow our listenership and further the impact in the lives of thousands here in our community. You can share this ministry every day by word of mouth or by using our brand new “Spread the Word Campaign” webpage. The page located at www.WJLU.org is filled with countless social media links you can share and paper printouts that you can hand out to friends, family and even strangers! We must make a greater impact in Volusia, Flagler, St. Johns and beyond, and you are a huge part of that potential impact. So catch the vision and partner with us! Ready? I am making a slow trek through the book Psalms by the Day by Alec Motyer, and it is bringing the Psalms to life for me in a fresh way. It is so good, in fact, that I know I will not finish it in one month as was the author's intention. It occurred to me that you might not even be aware that such rich resources are readily available to you, too, because of The Cornerstone. I found out about this book through Truth for Life as I was listening to Alistair Begg on the way to work. Truth for Life was offering it to listeners for an entire month, along with other books and CD’s.
Truth for Life isn’t the only ministry that offers ever changing resources. Almost every programmer on The Cornerstone carefully selects books, CD's, and other helps to strengthen you in your pursuit of God. Many of them provide the free resources we make available to you during Sharathon. The Cornerstone is a resource of resources, even beyond what you listen to day by day. We are constantly looking for things that will make you think, help you grow, and give you something to offer others. That is exactly why we are here.

Sharathon 2017: Spread the Word

We have reached Sharathon month! There are so many words I could use to say how much Sharathon means to us. It’s a time when we get to watch God use our listeners to support us and provide for us, and it is an amazing thing to see! We are listener supported, and we know that each listener who gives is doing the work of the Lord. We are a ministry, and we know that our listeners have been blessed by the content we have on our station, whether its Music with a Message or Bible teaching and family programs. We are also a local mission, and we know that what we do here is an outreach to those around us, reaching the lost and discipling the saved.
How will you support us this year during our Sharathon? Will you be able to support us financially? How about through prayer? Our biggest request before and during Sharathon is that you pray for us! Another request that we ask is that you Spread the Word. Our theme for our Sharathon and for the year ahead is Spread the Word. We want to be able to continue doing that in our community and beyond, and we simply cannot do that without you. We recently launched a new feature and campaign on our website called, you guessed it, Spread the Word. There are so many ways that you can help get the word out about us to those around you by sharing the content posted on our website. When you share a flyer onto your Facebook or pass a flyer to a friend, you’re not only spreading the word about The Cornerstone, but you are handing them a ticket to hear some great news: the Gospel! Think about how many more people might hear the Gospel just by getting the word out about our station. Also, consider how we might thrive with more listeners who are able and willing to support us.
